Director of Music Ministries
Dale Capehart is the Director of Ministerial Music – Emeritus at First Presbyterian Church and has been with the church over thirty-five years. Even before that as a college student he was involved with the music program at FPC. Music has always been a factor in his life as he grew up in Kenova, WV where he once directed the choir and later the Band at Ceredo-Kenova High School. Dale is a graduate of Marshall University where he studied voice with Leo Imperi. Over the years when Dale wasn’t directing the FPC choir he has been involved with such organizations as the Musical Arts Guild and has offered his services as a a chorister and/or soloist or director with many groups in the Tri-state area. Such organizations as the West Virginia Symphony and the West Virginia Opera Theatre have often appreciated his expertise. As an adjunct professor he taught Choral Conducting at MU. Dale is well known and appreciated in the musical community for his many services to the Huntington area. Another of his outreach activities is sponsoring an Indonesian child with Compassion International.
Dale’s goal for the music program at FPC is ‘to provide worshipful music for our church services and a good church music experience for our children.’
